This painting is called the Persistence of Memory and was painted by Salvador Dali in 1931. Slavador intended this painting to look like something out of a dream because of its weird landscape and droopy watches. The painting is full of mysterious symbols. A lifeless tree and a sleeping figure suggest death. The watches melting suggest the time is breaking down and losing its meaning. But at the same time the title says the memory still continues, regardless of time.
